Two recent Super Bowl winners face off as the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the New Meadowlands to face the New York Giants in NFL Pre-season action.

The New York Giants got a big scare in game one of pre-season as their franchise QB lost his helmet in a freak play and left the game with what looked to be a severe laceration. Apparently Manning won't miss any action  but the Giants look to be in solid shape as far as back ups as Jim Sorgi and Rhett Bomar also played well in a blowout of the New York Jets. Victor Cruz stole the show as he had six catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns and Andre Brown led in rushing with five carries for 26 yards. The player who is perhaps the most under the microscope right now is Ramses Barden who started in the first game but didn't look overly impressive having two catches but his biggest play was an easy drop. Defensively Gerris Wilkinson had six tackles while Jean Pierre-Paul had a sack and looked impressive in his rookie debut. Antrelle Rolle, Sh'reff Rashad, and D.J. Johnson all had interceptions.

Ben Roethlisberger didn't play in the Pittsburgh Steeler's first pre-season game against the Detroit Lions as Steelers coach said he wanted to see more of Dennis Dixon. While Roethlisberger starts the season suspended, and giving him reps will have little value, he will see action in this game. Dixon, Byron Leftwich, and Charlie Batch all saw time at QB but it was Dixon who layed the best going six of seven for 128 yards and a TD. Isaac Redman got the bulk of the carries at Running Back gaining 60 yards on 15 carries while starter Rashard Mendenhall had just two yards on five carries. Antonio Brown had three receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown and Arnaz Battle had one grab netting 51 yards. Stevenson Sylvester, Da'mon Cromartie-Smith, and Keyaron Fox all had four tackles while Ryan Clark had an interception and Brandon Renkart had a sack.

I think we see a lot more of what we saw the first game from both of these teams and while I still don't think Roethlisberger makes it to the field, I am also not sure how much Tom Coughlin is willing to gamble with Eli Manning's health as the head injury made a strong case for those wanting to do away with the pre-season. I think this one is a close one and that the points should come in handy.
