Denver at New York 3/23/10

The Knicks and Nuggets square off in what should be an entertaining game
Denver Nuggets at New York Knicks NBA Basketball: Tuesday March 23, 2010 07:30 PM EST The Line: Over/Under 217
The Denver Nuggets open their first of a five game road trip tonight when they take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Head to head, the over was an easy winner In the first meeting of the season in Denver as the Knicks and Nuggets combined to score a whopping 253 total points behind 50 points from Nuggets All-Star Carmelo Anthony and 41 points off the bench from Knicks swingman Al Harrington. The over is also 5-2 in the last 7 meetings and 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in New York.
- Over is 6-1 in Knicks last 7 vs. Western Conference. - Over is 5-1 in Knicks last 6 games as a home underdog. - Over is 8-2 in Knicks last 10 games following a ATS loss. - Under is 7-3 in Knicks last 10 overall. - Under is 5-2 in Nuggets last 7 overall. - Over is 5-2 in Nuggets last 7 games following a S.U. loss. - Over is 10-4 in Nuggets last 14 vs. Eastern Conference. - Over is 5-2 in Nuggets last 7 vs. NBA Atlantic.
By normal standards the Nuggets have been scoring at a reasonable pace in recent games, although by their standards they have been way down on their production as they have not scored over 100 points in any of their last three matches. However, the Nuggets averaged 115 ppg in their four games prior (which were all on the road) and 117 ppg in the seven games proir. The Knicks on the other hand, you just don’t know what you getting from night to night as they can look like one of the best offensive teams in the league and then the next night they just can’t seem to put it all together. However, one thing is for sure, when matched up against a faced pace teams, the Knicks are capable of putting up a huge number.
Playing totals with the Knicks is always a risk, however when you find the right spot it can really pay off and I think this is one of those times. There’s no doubt it’s a big number to cover but I really think this one turns into a shootout and it’s one of those types of games I can see JR Smith coming off the bench to score 30 points, all on three’s. I expect the Nuggets to come out on fire and for the Knicks too not be far behind ....
