The Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Angels finish off thei rseries in Arlington. The Texas Rangers dropped their first game of the series on Saturday after winning the first two. Scott Feldman allowed seven hits and three earned runs over five and a third innings of work to take his eighth loss of the year and Darren Oliver let the game get away from the Rangers as he allowed four hits and three runs in just two-thirds of an inning on the mound. At the plate Michael Young and Nelson Cruz homered but it just wasn't enough to get it done as Texas had just six hits total. The loss was just their third in their last 10 games and their lead is six in the American League West. For Sunday Night's finale the Rangers send Tommy Hunter to the hill for the start. Hunter has yet to take a loss this season and for the year he has allowed 48 hits and 13 earned runs while striking out 31 in 56 innings of work. The Los Angeles Angels look to be not so much fading as they are just beaten even though they got the win Saturday. Ervin Santana allowed just five hits and two earned runs while striking out eight in eight innings of work to get his eighth win of the season. Jeff Mathis hit his second home run of the year and Erick Aybar had three hits while Torii Hunter, Mathis, and Reggie Willits all had two hits each. The win was just the fifth in the last 10 games for the Angels as they continue to chase Texas with the Athletics poised to pass them for second place in the division. For Sunday Night's contest Los Angeles sends Trevor Bell to the hill for his first start of the season after working from the bullpen all pear. For the season Bell has allowed 30 hits and 13 earned runs while striking out 19 in 30 innings of work. Texas is 5-1 in their last six overall, 10-3 in their last 13 against the American League West, 8-1 in Hunter's last nine starts, and 25-12 in their last 37 home games against a right-handed starter. Los Angeles is 2-6 in their last eight games following a win, 2-10 in their last 12 road games, 1-7 in their last eight against a team with a winning record, and 2-7 in their last nine games against a right-handed starter. Los Angeles is 1-4 in their last five games in Texas. The Angels went out and got Alberto Callespo so they must believe they still have a chance to do something this year but they must be one of the few as they appear to be done as Texas has proved they are for real this year. While it's possible the next few months prove me wrong, it's doubtful. Mitch's Pick: Texas Rangers - 1 1/2
