The Line: Florida -2 1/2

Two NCAA Tournament bound SEC teams meet as Vanderbilt travels to Florida to take on the Gators.

Florida is in third place in the SEC tied with two others at 9-5 in conference play. The Gators dropped a close one at Georgia last time out to end a three game winning streak and that dropped their road conference record to 5-4. Florida is 6-1 at home in conference play.  Billy Donovan has five players that average double digits and as a team UF averages 72.1 points per game on 44.7 percent shooting. Defensively Florida allows teams to score 64.7 points per game as they hold them to just 42.3 percent shooting. Florida really avoided disaster this year as they started the season plagued by injuries and were just treading water in the standings.

Vanderbilt came out last game against Arkansas and did what they needed to do, make a statement. The Commodores had lost at home to Kentucky and then struggled to beat Georgia in overtime and many thought they may have lost their edge, Vandy beat Arkansas soundly to show they were very much OK. Vanderbilt basketball has been all about shooting and scoring this season as they shoot a 20th best 47.9 percent and score a 23rd best 78.8 points per game. Defensively Vanderbilt isn't nearly as strong as their lack of defensive rebounding hurts them. Teams shoot 41.1 percent against the Commodores but as the 229th ranked defensive rebounding team they allow teams to score 69.4 points per game which is 202nd in the nation. Vandy is a strong road team going 5-2 in conference road games so far this year.

Florida is 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games against a team with a winning record but they are just 1-4 against the spread at home against a team with a winning road record. Vanderbilt is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games and they are 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record. The favorite has covered in four of the last five in this series.

Vanderbilt keeps winning and playing solid basketball but they keep getting little respect. Doesn't make much sense and neither does them getting more than a basket even though they are on the road.

Mitch's Pick: Vanderbilt + 2 1/2
