The Line: Kansas -8.5

Kansas faces a tough road test against Texas A&M in the Jayhawks quest to remain undefeated in Big 12 play.

Recent History:

Kansas remains undefeated on the conference season and has just a road loss at Tennessee to separate them from a perfect overall record. In their last three road games, the Jayhawks defeated Texas by 12 points, Colorado by six points in overtime and Kansas State by two points in overtime.

Texas A&M has won four out of their last five games including the last four straight. In their last two home games, the Aggies beat Baylor 78-71 and Texas Tech 85-70.  The Aggies got by Texas Tech on Saturday despite issuing 19 turnovers and hitting just 16 out of 27 free throws.

Trends:

Kansas is 10-11-1 ATS this season

Kansas is 3-4-1 ATS on the road

Kansas is 1-4 ATS in their last five games

Texas A&M is 12-8 ATS this season

Texas A&M is 5-5 ATS at home

Texas A&M is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games

What to Expect:

Expect A&M to be up for this one.  Kansas has been a regular on Big Monday and the grind is probably getting a bit old for the Jayhawks. Texas A&M needs this win to keep pace with Kansas State and maintain their tie with the Wildcats for second place in the conference. For Aggie coach Mark Turgeon this game is big as it is a nationally televised game against the number one team in the land which happens to be the same team he played guard for back in the 80’s.  Texas A&M is going to need a big game from Donald Sloan, who sealed the deal against Texas Tech with his late free throws, but also committed seven turnovers in the game. The Aggies will need to have great team defense to stay in this game which they can do. Marcus Morris and Cole Aldrich are tough match-ups inside while Sherron Collins is a threat from long range, so the Aggies will need to pack the lane, slow this game down and make it as ugly as they can.  Kansas will need to shoot well from the perimeter against a dug in defense protecting the inside. This game is one of three left that pose a threat to KU’s bid to go through the conference schedule undefeated. Texas A&M should make a game of this and have a shot to win at the end.

Dave’s Pick: Texas A&M -8.5
